So Many Squares

I cased this card from a blog I follow called Treasure Oiler Designs. It was surprisingly simple to make. The paper is blue bayou DSP and whisper white. I ran it through the cuttlebug to add the texture dots. I used my 1 3/8 inch square punch to make the squares. The ribbon is chocolate chip and the stampset is too terrific tags.

Pizzaz with Petals

I found inspiration for this card from Splitcoast stampers. I used the new paper from the Saleabration Catalogue. This card took a LONG, time to make as each flower needed to be carefully stamped and cut out. Of course I used the Petal Pizzaz stampset. This is another preparation I am working on for my Open House this Sunday. Hope to see you there!!!!

Autumn Vine

So I'm furiously getting things ready for my Open House this sunday. Tonight I took a break from girls night (snowboarding night) and sat down to spend a few hours in my crafting room. Here's the result. These cards were made using the Easter Blooms and Yummy stamp sets. The colours are Chocolate chip, Sage Shadow, More Mustard and REally Rust. I used the retired DSP Autumn Vine. I used the top note die in the Big Shot for added detail.

Mr GQ

I like to call this photo my GQ man because it totally looks like Brad is posing for a magazine shoot. This is another page from my Wedding scrapbook. The paper is all K&Co, the stickers and ribbon are from the dollar store and I used my deckle scissors to finish off the edges.

An Old Scrapbook Layout Once Again

Again I have decided to go back to the posts of my girlfriends wedding last summer. I just found out that she is pregnant with Twins and we are all very excited abou this. Anyway, here's a recap of what I wrote last summer:
"This page is from my girlfriend Heather's wedding which was last month. Doesn't she look fabulous? I love her dress. I made the bridesmaid dresses. We each chose our own pattern so that each dress was flattering to our body types. These pictures are all taken just before we go down the aisle. In the centre photo that's me in the background, Estelle, and Sharann. The bottom photo is the flower girls, Heather's neices. It's so cute the way they are peeking around the corner, waiting to go down the aisle. I used River Rock as my background colour, and Porcelain Prints DSP. I just love last year's In Colors and I'm going to have a hard time saying goodbye to them. Good thing I bought a bunch of my favourites! I used Live Your Dream, and Baroque Motifs stamp sets. I did not bring up my River Rock ink pad so I used Chocolate Chip to do the stamps. Of course I really regret leaving my punches at home, but I decided to save on space. I would have preferred to have used a circle punch on the small stamped images, but I used my deckle scissors instead. The ribbon is from the Dollarama in Powell River - sometimes there's good finds there. And finally I used Stampin' Dimensionals under the stamped images"

More Wedding Pages

These are 2 more pages from my wedding album. We got married on the beach in Mexico. I always wanted to get married on the beach, and the weather here in Vancouver is so unpredictable, that we decided Mexico was a better bet.

The paper is from K&Co., the ribbon from Mike's, the stickers from the dollar store and I also used my deckle scissors to finish the edges as well as my SU corner rounder punch.

Wedding Album

I was going through my wedding album the other day and decided to post a few of the pages. If you haven't noticed already, I LOVE PURPLE!! I used purple cardstock and the DSP is from K&Co. The organza ribbon is from Mike's and the shiny purple DSP is from the Dollar Store. I used deckle scissors, pop up dots and stickers from the dollar store to add embellishments. We are coming up on our 4th aniversary next month.

Petal Party

This 2 page layout was done using the simply scrappin set Petal Party. All I did was add a few die cuts from my Big shot, a bit of ink, and some whisper white cardstock. I also used the Wonderful Favouites stamp set.

Back to the Beginning

Seeing as I'm focusing on scrapbooking these days, I thought I'd go back to my very first post which was a layout on my friend Heather's wedding which happened last summer. Here's what I wrote in the original post.

"The top page was done with Porcelain Prints DSP and Baroque Motifs stamp sets as well as some Martha Stewart clear stamps. I really love the combination of Blue Bayou, Certainly Celery and River Rock. The flower medalions were stamped in the Rock and Roll Method which involes stamping the rubber stamp in the lighter coloured in and then "rolling" the outer edges of the stamp in the darker ink. This is the first time I've tried something like this and I really like the results with this paper.
This second page features the bridesmaids. Like I said, I made the dresses and I really like how they turned out. But I digress. I used the same Martha Stewart clear stamps and the same Baroque Motifs stamp sets. The ink colours are Blue Bayou and Certainly Celery again. And again I used the Porcelain Prints DSP. Oh yeah, and apparently the photogapher really liked how I did my hair and took a picture of the back of my head."

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Here's a page that I made last year. I used the retired Simply Scrappin' Kit Special Delivery Girl and the coordinating card stock. Boy do I miss those old In Colours. The pictures are of my children and my brother-in-law.
