You know that feeling when something just falls together and it's all perfect? Well that's how I feel about this page. I wasn't too keen on this combo as orange is not a colour I like very much, but once I figured out how I was going to do this page, it all fell into place. That background paper was truly my inspiration. So hop on over to the Colour Q and check out the fantastic work of the Design Team.
First I used this Juno Monsterific template.
And this fantastic kit from Bella Gypsy designs. I think this is my favourite kit EVER!!!
This kit from Scrap Orchard is also on my favourites list.
And of course, I needed to use some fantastic stuff from Mye De Leon.
I started this card earlier this month before I injured my elbow.
I used one of the journaling cards from the Every Little Bit kit shown below as the base of the card. But I covered up the sentiment of "Let's Go" with the doily shapes I cut from another journal card. Then I sat on it for almost a month. I just couldn't think of what to add. but this week, Deena finished these cool brushes called "A Kind Word", and they fit perfectly. So it's funny how it all falls into place sometimes right?
By the way, if you're interested, my injured elbow led to severe bursitis in my shoulder for a while, but it's all settled down now so I can finally scrap and papercraft again! Yay! I was feeling a little sorry for myself for a while there.
These are the kits from Deena Rutter that I used in the card above.
I found these cute little digital freebies from The Alley Way Stamps, so I decided to try a hybrid card with them. I'm not terribly keen on the colours in this card, but I was also trying to use a new pad of paper from Authentique that I found on sale at a local crafting store. Overall I kind of like the mix of crisp, bold stamps with the softness of the vintage paper.
I just added this card to the Hip on Handwriting challenge over at the Moxie Fab world.
I was playing around with Ampersands (that adorable sign that means 'and' that you see everywhere these days) and my Silhouette and cut out a bunch of these. I decided to use the negative image and my mister to create the card above. I used lots of different blues and greens to match that adorable background paper from Deena Rutter. I also used the the Silhouette and cut out the 'you' and 'me'. I took my misted/sponged ampersand and cut it out with the window framelit from Stampin' Up!
I stitched around the base layer first and then popped all the layers up on dimensionals.
