Stampin' Royalty Challenge #113

This week the challenge over at Stampin' Royalty is called
DRESSING DOWN
This means, no embellishments.  You can use punches and the big shot, but no embellishments.
I cased this card from Sandy MacIver.   I loved the simplicity of her colour choices.  Of course I needed to switch out the ribbon for something made from paper.  So I used some DSP from the Attic Boutique suite and coordinating card stock.  I ran the Riding Hood Red card stock through the Dotted Scallop Trim Border punch and then pleated it for more dimension.  Can you believe I made this card without my Stamp-ama-jig??  I had a really steady hand today.

Ingredients:
Stamps - Fresh Vintage from Sale a bration, and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Colours - Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso

Case'ing by the Sea

So I've finally had a few moments to sit down  and do some stamping this weekend  Although this card, is actually a hybrid card so there wasn't a lot of stamping done.  The Tea Shoppe set is available as a digital download, so I printed the tea cups off as a jpeg from My Digital Studio.  I also copied this card from the wonderfully talented Kimberly Van Diepen.  Click here for her card.    I basically changed up the colours and changed a few little details to come up with my own version of her card.

Above is a close up of the tea cups.  I carefully cut them out by hand.  The ribbon is the new Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon.

First I cut out the doily with the Big Shot from Whisper White card stock.  Then I sponged the doily with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink to give it an aged look.

In the above photo you can see the gathered ribbon.  I layered it on top of Whisper White card stock punched out with the Dotted Scallop border punch.

The DSP is from the Twitterpated suite in the new Occasions Mini, as is the gathered ribbon, and the Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon.

Leadership Display Samples - Take FIFTEEN

I have to admit.  I cased this card from the very talented Dawn McVey.  She does amazing stuff that lady.  Anyway,  I used the fabullous Sale-a-bration set "Outlined Occasions" for this card.  The squares were punched out of DSP with the postage stamp punch.  The squares were attached with adhesive and then I used the Paper Piercer and the Mat Pack to punch the little holes which I then threaded with plain thread to give it a stiched look.

The sentiments are both from the same stamp set.  I stamped the main one in Early Espresso and coloured in the images with markers.  Then I punched it out with the Modern Label punch and mounted it on the Early Espresso paper.  Next I carefully cut around it to create a matte.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #112

This week we have a fabulous colour challenge for you over at Stampin' Royalty!
Hop on over and check out the samples from the Design Team.

I made this card by using a layout from one of my Leadership Samples. I started with the die cuts from the Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kits.  I punched out the large Cherry Cobbler flower with the new Blossom Punch.  The rest are die cuts.  I used some of the middle punch outs to create the leaves on the stems.

I made the grass by using the Adorning Accents Edgelits die.  I cut out two copies and layered them.  I also made sure to use the side with the impression of the die to add more texture to the whole thing.

Leadership Display Samples - Take THIRTEEN

This is one of my favourite samples for Leadership Displays.  I made a cute little Easter basket using the petal cone die.  I stamped using Pool Party and Wysteria Wonder paper and ribbon.

I stamped colour on colour for a more subtle effect.  The edges were made with the scallop trip border punch and the crimper.  This gives the paper even pleats and allows for a nice border around rounded edges.

I added an antique brad and some words from the Tiny Tags set.  A tiny strip of Flirtatious DSP on the handle jazzed things up nicely.

Leadership Display Samples - Take TWELVE!!

This was one of the first samples I made for the Leadership Display boards.  I tried something different in popping up the image on one side to give it a bit of interest.    The little row of flowers at the bottom was made by inking up part of the sentiment stamp with a marker and then stamping it in a line.  I did the same idea with the sentiment itself. .

Stampin' Royatly Challenge #111

This week we have a fabulous sketch challenge for you.
Hop on over to Stampin' Royalty to check out the wonderful samples from the design team.

Here's my card.  I flipped the sketch and resized a few elements.

This also was one of my Leadership Display Samples.

I stamped the corner with Very Vanilla craft ink.  I did it without the stamp-a-ma-jig too.  I was pretty lucky to line them up so straightly.  I used the Fresh Vintage SAB set.  First I stamped it in River Rock, then I stamped it in Rose Red and Pretty in Pink, then I carefully cut out the flowers and mounted them over the River Rock image..

Valentine's Day Projects

When my daughter's daycare told me that they didn't want to pass out Valentines this year, I was really sad because I had plans to use up all my retired Stampin' Up! Valentine's Day paper.  But then I decided to make projects for the teachers.  Rosette Wreaths are really trendy this year.  So I decided to make some for her teachers.

I went to the dollar store and bought some cheap tacky hearth wreaths.  Then I pulled off all of the tinsel and glued on the rosettes.  It's hard to tell from the photos, but there are two wreaths.  One is larger than the other.  Below is the back view of the large one.

I went through all my retired accessories and placed them in the middle of the rosettes.  I added a few current ones for more contrast.

Here's another closeup of the smaller wreath.

Colour Q Challenge #124

Isn't she such a cutie???    I have to admit first off that I copied the layout for this page from my fellow Artisan Award winner Heather Klump.  Click here to check out her fabulous blog.  I have made soooooooo many valentines this past week, that I was really resistant to make one for this challenge despite the obvious colours.  And, yes, I know that it's Valentine's Day today, but don't worry, I've got a Valentine project for you today as well.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Wall Facebook Project

One of the cool things about being an Artisan Award winner this year is that we get asked to create special projects for the Stampin' Up! Facebook page.  Click here to check out what the other Artisans have created.  There are some fantastic projects up.

Originally I cased a card that I found over on Kristina Werner's blog.   I rearranged the elements a bit and used brighter colours.  First I ran the Rose Red Cardstock through the big shot with Whisper White Craft Ink.  .  Next I ran the Crumb Cake cardstock through with  no ink at all.  I roughed up the edges and added some ink to soften the look.

The pennants were made in various ways.  The centre pennants were made with whisper white cardstock.  First I used the Sale-a-bration stamp sets to stamp my own DSP.  Then I cut out the bottom V.  The centre one was punched with the small heart punch.  I added a Rose Red heart cut out with the same punch to the other 2 flags.

This flag was created with the postage stamp punch.  First I punched out a whole square.  Then I attached a skinny long scrap to the back of it to use as a shim.  Next I ligned it up halfway in the punch and punched it again.  Viola!  I added the Large Pearl for more detail.
I glued the twine along the top by draggin it through a little bit of Crystal Effects and then attaching it.  Once it was dry, I trimmed down the ends.  Next I tied tiny bows out of the same twine.  Finally I used tweezers and dipped them in Crystal Effects and placed them where I wanted them.  When the bows were dry I attached the flags with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Leadership Display Samples - Take ELEVEN!!

I made this card for the make-n-take display samples for Leadership.  The grass was made using the flower stamp and then run through the big shot with the Tasteful Trims die.  All of the die cuts come from the Occasions Mini.

Here's a closeup of the flower and all the layers I used.  Everything was curled, distressed, and popped up on dimensionals.

Drawing my colours from the curtains in the photo meant

a strip with the Dotted Scallop Border Punch
and attached it to a strip of Melon Mambo cardstock.

Leadership Display Samples - Take TEN

I scrapped this adorable photo of my son when he was 2 weeks old.  I made this page for the Leadership Displays using products from the current Occasions Mini.

Layering the die-cut flowers and stamped images made for some cute details.

I used both pink and blue flowers to make this page more versatile.
