Sympathetic Banner

My SIL's grandmother passed away this week, so I whipped up this little card for her to let her know we are thinking of her right now.

It's so simple to create these little banners with the Hearts Aflutter framelits and some patterned paper.

I cut the butterflies out of the paper by hand as they were in the pattern.
Here's the finished card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Embellish Magazine Challenge

This week there is a great challenge at Embellish Magazine.com For this challenge you need to find inspiration in the photo collage below, using the colours in the swatches and with the addition of birds in your card.
Well I grabbed my newly retired set 'From the Earth' because it has a fabulous bird silhouette and set to work. This card was CASE'd from the fabulous Margaret Moody over at PPA. I changed up the colours and embellishments a bit, but stuck with the same basic layout that she used.

The Fun Stuff:
1. Paper - Kiwi Kiss (retired), Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
2. Stamps – From the Earth (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes
3. Punches – Curly Label, 1 ¼” square, and 1 3/8” square
4. Accessories – Button Bouquet (ret.), Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain (ret.), Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (ret.), Small Rhinestone Brads (ret.), Silver Elastic Thread (ret.), Stampin Dimensionals and Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder for the Big Shot.

Sympathy Card

Does this card look familiar? I originally made this card for a Mojo Monday sketch and recently I altered it. It had the subtle tones that made it work as a sympathy card. The paper is retired DSP and I made the sentiment with MDS and punched it out with my label punch.
