Colour Q #134
It's Tuesday and that means another challenge at the Colour Q. Hop on over and check out the fantastic samples from the Design Team.
This page was done by using a page of the new MDS template Keep This Memory.
I simply changed up some of the papers and embellishments to match the colours from the combo.

More Retiring Stamps Retrospective
Here we continue my retrospective of retiring stamps. The frame stamp on this card is from the Notably Ornate stamp set. I will be sad to see this one go. Thankfully I have the digital copy in My Digital Studio, and that never retires!!

Retiring Stamps Retrospective
This card ws made last March 2011, so there are a lot of different products on it. I really miss that retired pom pom trim. But anyway, this card uses several stamp sets, but the one that is retiring next month is Fifth Avenue Floral. Click here for the original post with more details.

Retrospective of Retiring Stamps
With soooooooo many amazing stamps retiring soon, I thought I'd take a peek through some of my cards made with these retiring stamps. Today's card was originally posted on January 19, 2011.
This is one of my favourite cards EVER!
It uses the stamp set "Oval All"

Using More New Downloads
This page was super, super, super easy to make.
I started with the new "Keep This Memory" template. Then all I did was switch out the DSP (paper) for the new Summer Smooches DSP, pulled out some coordinating colours, added a background overlay for texture, and added the title.
Here's the original template.

Retrospective of Retired Stamps
This is a cute card that I made for a swap at Vancouver Regionals last year. The heart is from the retiring set I {heart} Hearts. I really love this set and I will really miss it. Click here for all the details of my original post.
As an aside, I was completely tickled to see this card show up on the display boards at Convention last summer.
Tutorials Up On My Teachers-Pay-Teachers Store
For those of you who follow my Teaching Blog, I added a few tutorials to my Teachers Pay Teachers store today. These are tutorials that I have for sale here on my blog, but now they are available in an instant download.
This first tutorial shows you the steps to create an adorable flower bouquet card which my class will be making for their Moms for Mother's Day.
There are very clear, step by step instructions.
I used flower punches for this card, but you could easily adapt it for bought paper flowers, or have the children make their own flowers.
Scroll down for more photos and a second tutorial.
to download the tutorial
This second tutorial is more for the Staff.
If you are interested in scrapbooking or card making
this layout is excellent for a new baby, or young child.
Included are step-by-step instructions. Including how to make those cute box pleat, and that pop-up sailboat. Although I used Stampin' Up! product on this page, you can adapt it for similarly coloured papers.

Trying out some new downloads...
This was a quick and easy page to make. I started with the board book template Wonderful You. I used one of the pages and changed up the colours of the paper and punches. I pulled the colours from the picture and added a few overlay brushes and voila!
By the way, this is a picture of me at 6months old when I got my favourite stuffies. I slept with him until he was no longer white and fluffy. He was called "Big Doggie"

Stampin' Royalty Challenge Number 120
We have a cool sketch for you over at Stampin' Royalty this week. Hop on over and check out the fabulous samples from the wonderful design team. We had a lot of fun with our annual family Easter Egg Hunt at the park. Teagan is showing off her goodies in this adorable photo. I used the stamp image from Eggceptional Easter. I thought the cute little Easter Bunny in a dress kind of echoed the photo.

Stampin Royalty Challenge #120
This week we have a super bright colour challenge for you.
Although I LOVE purple, I actually was really interested in the contrast between the orange and purple in this combo. But I could not find a photo that had both colours in it. In the end I settled on using Concord Crush as the background with white text so that it really popped off the page. I just squeezed in the other 2 colours with the buttons. Like the ribbon, it's so simple. I just layered 3 bows on top of each other and rotated each one a bit.
We took these photos when I was buying new hockey skates a few weeks ago. We picked Teagan up from dance class on our way off the the hockey store. So one thing I love about the bottom photo is the little pink tutu sticking out under her purple top. It goes great with the hockey gear right?

Colour Q Challenge #132
When I first looked at this colour combo I almost gagged.
I really don't like red and orange together,
and add olive green and ...
yuck!
I scrapped this fabulous photo of my husband and his siblings.
It's from his Brother's wedding last summer.
The photo was taken by the extremely talented Lee Halliday,
of Lee Halliday photography. Click here to check out her work.
When I scrap a digital page for Colour Q I like to find a paper (DSP) that has some of the colours in it. This becomes my starting point. The Everyday Enchantment paper was perfect. I really like the two papers that I used on this page. They are my favouite patterns in the set.
Adding the overlay was a bit of a risk for me, but I really like how it turned out and I love the vintage look of this page despite the colour palette.

Pinwheel Birthday
Just a really cute card - Dont' you just love pinwheels?
Pinwheels are very easy to make. I used the new 1" square punch to make this one.
I found this easy tutorial on how to make a pinwheel. Click here to check it out.
This card has lots of layers and I tried to mount each layer on a piece of Island Indigo Cardstock for more definition. The bottom layer of Island Indigo was popped up on dimensionals to finish it all off.
