Stampin' Royalty Challenge #130

It's Wednesday, so that means another challenge over at Stampin' Royalty.

This week we have a

This week we have a Photo Inspiration challenge for you.

Isn't this the yummiest photo.  I love all the bright colours.

I found a cool card on Pintrest that I cased to create this stunning lollipop.

If you go to pintrest you can find it on my boards.

I stamped a cute sentiment...

And did some paper piercing for more interest.

It made a great birthday card for a little girl.

Colour Q Challenge #143

Well it's Wednesday, and that means another challenge over at the Colour Q

I found this challenge really difficult.  These 4 colours, plus white are so different from each other that I decided to use a white background with spats of colour

I found this template on My Digital Studio, and altered the colours and DSP to match the challenge.

You can't really see it, but the background is stamped with an overlay stamp in Basic Grey.  I just reduced the opacity so much that it doesn't show up in the web browser very well.

Although this is from a template, I really love the message. 

It applies to my son really, really well.

Freshly Made Sketches #40 Yet Again

  Welcome back.  Here's my second birthday card for

the Princess Party Twins today.

Again, I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. 

Like I said yesterday, I really like this sketch.

It's so simple yet so versatile.

Like yesterday, I used the colours from the

new Floral District paper.  It's really bright and girly.

I love it!

This cute little crown is from the Topsy-Turvy Celebration set that I used

yesterday.  I also used the 'Celebrate' sentiment from that set.

After I punched it out with the new

Apothecary Labels Framelit, I decided it needed something

else, so I mounted it on a die cut from the Labels Framelits.

But it was still missing something, so I pulled out the

Blue Ribbon set and mounted the crown on the little ribbon

medallion.  It adds a nice detail. 

I stamped it on the DSP as well, for more texture.

I used the Bitty Labels Framelits to punch

out the sentiment and mounted it on some Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

I decided that adding Dazzling Diamonds, and some rhinestones

was enough bling for a little princess.

This time I used the Tangerine Tango Scallop Polka Dotted ribbon

to pull the orange out of the paper.

Everything was popped up on dimensionals for that final bit of depth.

Freshly Made Sketches #40

I really needed a princessy, pink pair of birthday cards. 

Tomorrow we're off to a birthday Princess Party for twins.

I sure had a lot of fun with this card.  Check back tomorrow for the other one.

I tried to make a pair of cards so that each girl got their own card. 

I hear that twins often go through life being treated like one person.

I decided to link up with Freshly Made Sketches. 

I really like the sketch this week.

My new box of goodies arrived from Stampin' Up yesterday, so I had fun playing.

Do you like the new framelits?

This one is from the Floral Frames Framelits.

This adorable cake is from the new

Topsy-Turvy Celebration set.

And the sentiment is from the delightful set

called Perfectly Penned.

The 'Celebrate' sentiment is also in the Topsy-Turvy Celebration set. 

I added rows of rhinestones to each layer of the cake. 

And them some Dazzling Diamond glitter glue. 

I pulled the colours for the card from this DSP

which is the new Floral District paper.

I think it's my favourite paper in this catty.

I added some Scallop Polka Dotted ribbon, but turned it over

so that the polka dots don't overwhelm the layout.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #129

 Welcome to Wednesday and another challenge over at Stampin' Royalty.

This week we have a colour challenge for you.

Now honestly, at first this colour challenge really stumped me.  I could not figure out how to get old olive into the picture, but then...

da da,

I thought about using watercolouring.

When I was on the DT over at SPCC (colour challenges) I would use flowers and watercolouring if there was a green in the combo.

And...

Old olive is green...

And fortunately, I had just found my watercolour paper which had gone walking a while ago.

So I decided that it was fate, and off I went.

 

Out came the Apothecary Art stamp set and my watercolouring paper.

I stamped teh image in Staz On and then set to watercolouring with an aquapainter.

The sentiment I stamped, and cut out with the Bitty Frames Framelit. 

Check out my little tutorial on the Tutorials Page on how managed that.

I used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder to add some texture to the pool party card stock and I added some Pool Party seam binding ribbon as well.  The flower image was cut out by hand and then I mounted it on a die cut from the Labels Framelits.  I really like the size of the matte when you do this.

Colour Q Challenge #142

I am so pleased with this layout.  I really found the colours a challenge this week.

And I knew I wanted to scrap photos of our new baby.  Isn't he adorable???

He looks at me with those big green eyes and scratches my new leather sofa, and I have trouble getting upset.  He's so darned cute.

As of today he is 12 weeks old, but still sooooo tiny.

Anyway, this page is digital.  I used My Digital Studio and tons of Fan Fair products.

I really like the new flower embellishments too.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #128

 Wednesday means a new challenge over at Stampin' Royalty. 

This week we have a great challenge for you.

This week the challenge is to go

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

Hop on over and check out the fabulous samples from the design team.

What does clean and simple mean? 

Well to me it means minimal layers,

no distressing, and a minimal number of colours. 

So no big bows or elaborate embellishments either.

And usually a lot of White or Vanilla.

But that's just what I think it means.

Everyone has a slightly different idea.

So for my Clean and Simple card I used Whisper White card stock.  I stamped an image from the new hostess set called "Happy You". 

I plan to make a whole set of these cards with all the images from this great hostess set.

I stamped the image with Staz-On and coloured it in with Stampin' Write Markers.

I punched it out with the Curly Label Punch.

I ran the background through the Big Shot with the

Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

Then to add some texture I used a sponge and some Wisteria Wonder ink.

I dipped the sponge in the ink and then I rubbed it around in little circles on

top of the embossed circles. 

Paper Players #99

Well I had time today to sit down and whip up a little card.

I was really drawn to these colours at the Paper Players.

So I pulled out one of my new stamp sets Betsey's Blossoms.

I really like the crisp clean lines of this set.

I found this wonderful card made by Mary Fish, and decided to CASE it.

Freshly Made Sketches #38

WooHOO

This is my 1000th post.

I find it hard to believe that I have done this

ONE THOUSAND times.

Crazy right?

Well, on to the stamping...

Well I finally had time to pull out the new stamp set Papaya Collage.

And then I decided to try out the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I decided to try out a vintage look.

I stamped the frame on some of the new Comfort Cafe paper (DSP)

I tore the edges and distressed them with sandpaper and a sponge.

I did the same with the layer of First Edition DSP (paper)

Do you like the medallion in the middle?  I stamped the image on Very Vanilla and then used the new labels framelits to trim it down.  I aligned the framelit with one edge of the image, cut it out, then aligned it with the other edge and cut it out again.  I'm pretty pleased with the result.

I stamped the butterfly on a piece of First Edition DSP as well. 

Then I cut it out and popped it up on a very small piece of a Stampin' Dimensional.

The above photo shows the butterfly from another angle. 

I gathered some Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon

and used and Edgelit to trim a piece of Midnight Muse card stock for the bottom.
